According to Wikipedia a pet peeve is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to him or her, to a greater degree than others may find it. I would say that most pet peeves usually involve things that other people do but in my case one of my pet peeves is with objects. Medians! Those concrete fortresses preventing you from turning left coming out of a store or parking lot. There is nothing more fun than driving miles past where you want to be to get to what you saw ten minutes ago. Until I moved to Colorado Springs, CO, I rarely had this "annoyance" but now the medians here seem like the Great Wall of China at times...who do I have to bribe to get through the gates?C. R.
