Vision: Thomas Palos

As I run the last lap I can feel the sweat running down my face, my heart beating rapidly I lay down in the grass to take a rest. My vision is always blocked out on what is going on around me after a long run. I recover myself by sitting up and looking straight out into the distance as I wipe the salty sweat from my eyes. My vision becomes a bit more clear, but when I come to face it, there is always something blocking my vision.

Macro: Anna Keiser

The term of architecture can be applied to many things. The entire building is just as important as the nuts and bolts that keep it together. Macro photography shots usually highlight the details of a subject. I have an obsession with how nature's structure plays off of the man made structures that have taken over. The overgrowth of this small weed flower on the stop sign is intricate and playful, weaving in, out and around. This literal macro shot of the weed flower presents the overgrowth as something beautiful even though the relationship is not symbiotic.

Heather Zindars: Beauty

The perfection and beauty of this insect is indescribable.  This photo was captured at The Butterfly Pavilion, in Westminster, Colorado where civilians can enter a magical world of butterflies flying freely around them.  I love the juxtaposition of the beautiful butterfly placed perfectly at the dying part of the leaf.  As he eats the leaf, his proboscis is perfectly curled, and the tip of his antennae appears to glow in delight.  These type of photographs are difficult to capture since you can't control the placement and movement of the butterfly.  I was lucky to capture this moment.

Time: Danielle Saler

As a photographer, life is busy. So busy, that while I was finally able to clean my bathroom, I stumbled upon a bar of soap. Its split ends and ridged body was intriguing as well as beautiful. But more importantly an eye opener. How do you know when something as simple as toiletries expire? Well, after photographing the detail in the bar of soap, I did some research. Did you know a bar of soap has a shelf life of three years? I sure didn't. Most toiletries have a shelf life of six months, so always keeping up on expiration dates and tips will help you stay organized. After all, the bathroom is known to be the most unorganized room in the home.

Here is an article for more information about toiletry expiration dates.

Funky: Moriah Gallagher

Funky is a very broad term that means different things for different people.
For some, it is a music genre from the 1960s.Likewise, it could be seen as a fashion statement that was either popular in the same time frame or even a more modern version.
Since the age of five (when I accidentally drank old milk), it has had only one meaning to me, and that is the most literal definition: moldy.  Mold makes any food dangerous to eat, so that instead of provided nourishment, it now is a threat in itself.  Not only is that warped enough to be "funky", but the smell is horrible enough that even an image like this one could bring that remembered scent resurface.

Fusion : Audree Valdez

Definitely not the best work of art, but I at least had a little bit of fun creating "fusion".

Fusion: The union or blending together of things, as, melted together. I dont think I could have been more literal when I decided to take four crayons and "fuse" them together in the microwave. At least something cool came out of it.

When I look at this image it reminds me of what the world would look like from space, only a little bit more colorful.

Motion: Brian Howell

Can you imagine a better place to relax after a long hike? Photographers use slow and fast shutter speed’s to capture motion and to give a whole different feeling to an image. This waterfall shot with a fast shutter speed wouldn’t be very pleasing to look at, but shot with a slow shutter speed it turns into an entirely different image. The smoothing of the water gives the image a mystical look and makes you want to jump right on in...just watch out for the rocks!

Devan Dennis - Green

A forest maiden dwells hidden among the trees

A glint of her hair, a flash of her eyes among the leaves,

This is all many can say they have seen.

Nature’s spirit has chosen her,

Shielding her in shadows and glade screens of green.

She is a serene woodland nymph,

A wild masterpiece of the Earth’s creating,

Her surreal nature and song on the wind doth lure many,

Wishing for only a moment to glimpse this elusive beauty.

Katelyn Lumpkins- Green!

"April showers brings May flowers." Lately everything has been gray and gloomy, but once the spring rain storms pass our gardens are lush and flowers are flourishing. These grape hyacinth flowers are especially thriving on this spring morning after the nightly rain shower.

The leaves return to the tree’s vibrantly, something I have sorely missed as the depressingly barren branches incite only melancholy and dull thoughts.

In this photo is a Leaf Nosed Rat Snake named, Bamboo. She is an education animal at the Denver Zoo and her purpose is teaching all ages about habitat destruction. She is from the rain forests in Vietnam, which due to human destruction she is losing her habitat. Her leaf shaped nose is adapted so that she may blend into her environment and avoid predation.

Green-Caitlin McBride

When given the word "green" to portray in a photograph I immediately thought of greenery. I love spring, and seeing flowers bloom and the green grass emerge over the brown fields of winter. It makes me feel new and fresh. I went to my friends house on a beautiful Friday and went out to her backyard. Her yard is full of dead grass, but on the side yard there was cluster of flowers that had sprung up. I immediately grabbed my camera and photographed this beautiful beginning of spring.

With the price of Diesel and Gasoline these days if you have to ask how much it is it may be too much. Unfortunately it effects everything that's shipped to out stores and all in transit within our big rigs. High MPG's (miles per gallon) and going green never seemed more imperative with gasoline nearing $4/gallon. I fear we might see the rise of scooter gangs that silently terrorize the neighborhoods of our big cities.

Green-Robert Roe

Children around the world were sadden when the beloved Easter Bunny was killed by the Hulk. The Hulk said "Bunny called Hulk pansy. Made fun of Hulk for being green. Hulk smash Bunny." Witnesses on the scene claim that the Bunny simply asked the Hulk if he wanted a green flower.

Technology-Jeff Sipes

My version of technology is based on my opinion that apple is taking over with all the new technology.  This is the 5th generation ipod nano that comes fully loaded with speakers and a video camera.  I decided to put poisonous on the screen because technology is becoming the poison of the future.  Everybody uses it every day for a couple hours to get their information out there.
