Macro: Anna Keiser

The term of architecture can be applied to many things. The entire building is just as important as the nuts and bolts that keep it together. Macro photography shots usually highlight the details of a subject. I have an obsession with how nature's structure plays off of the man made structures that have taken over. The overgrowth of this small weed flower on the stop sign is intricate and playful, weaving in, out and around. This literal macro shot of the weed flower presents the overgrowth as something beautiful even though the relationship is not symbiotic.

Film to Digital: Chris Bebout

Film is beautiful but sensitive medium that I have just started to understand over the past 3 months. This idea of working in complete darkness is the exact opposite of what photography is about. The feeling of being in a developing room and placing a black and white negative into chemicals, that could degrade the image if not done properly is very nerve racking but exciting once the process is finished. The lights are now on and the negative is being held up to the light....its as if this weight as been lifted. The negative is sharp, exposed correctly, and clean. Now its time to print! Whole other ball game!

Death-Jeff Sipes

When I thought about death, the first thing that came to my mind was a graveyard.  I knew of this huge graveyard not too far away and went there to find some architecture.  This was the most unique architectural structure I found and couldn't pass it up.  My main focus in photography right now is architecture. I enjoyed working with this photograph because of the great contrast between the building and sky.  Even though it’s a mausoleum, the sky makes it feel like there is a brighter day ahead.
