Some people only really think about what their thankful for on Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and so on. For me its important when I'm upset or stressed out to think about where I have been, what has been given to me, and what I have earned. Most things in life are uncontrollable and some are not, but we must not dwell on the past but learn and move forth.

First: Anderson/Windey
When you are a child certain things and interests hold more influence then you may think. Why do we hold on to certain items while others are tossed to the side? Is it your subconscious telling you something? Ajay received this guitar, his first, when he was in the fourth grade. He has always held onto it with the intentions of restoring it to it's original condition, but for now it just sits. Who knows what the next few years will bring. All we know is that he still has it and there is a reason for that.

Urban: Chris Bebout
Denver is full of urban buildings, I found Hotel Newhouse epically interesting do too its close location near the Colorado State Capitol with its brightly lit 80's neon sign.
Urban: Jazzmin Windey
I feel that traffic, rules, lights, loud sounds all make up my definition of an urban area. While I don't mind large cities I could never settle down in one. I am a very rushed person as it is and don't think I could handle the fast pace of an urban area. The crazy thing is that during my commute from work and school back home I go through so many different areas. There are changes in altitude, scenery, even weather but through it all I know that as soon as I get past the lights pictured above I will be back in the quiet setting of my little slice of heaven.

Creepy: Chris Bebout
What the eyes see or in this case don't see, the mind will interpret what it thinks is there. This creepy fenced off abandoned factory (Gates Rubber Factory) was playing games with my mind. Letting my imagination get the best of me, I created an Image in my head of what was in front of me, only to see the truth as I walked forward.

Change: Jazzmin Windey
The word CHANGE can take on many different meanings. It could be a change of seasons, a change in hair color, a change in self, or a life change. In my case change has taken on a whole new meaning. October 15, 2011 is a day that has been six years in the making. I have gone through many changes in my life but that day will mark one of the biggest to date. I will be marrying the love of my life and while many people may say this is my happy ending, I see it as my wonderful and adventurous beginning. I decided that my first picture should not only introduce me but should also show the uncertainty of who I should be after marriage. How much of yourself do you “change”? How many things do you compromise without compromising who you are as an individual? These are just a few of the many contemplations running through my mind.

Devan Dennis - Green

A forest maiden dwells hidden among the trees
A glint of her hair, a flash of her eyes among the leaves,
This is all many can say they have seen.
Nature’s spirit has chosen her,
Shielding her in shadows and glade screens of green.
She is a serene woodland nymph,
A wild masterpiece of the Earth’s creating,
Her surreal nature and song on the wind doth lure many,
Wishing for only a moment to glimpse this elusive beauty.

Green-Robert Roe
Children around the world were sadden when the beloved Easter Bunny was killed by the Hulk. The Hulk said "Bunny called Hulk pansy. Made fun of Hulk for being green. Hulk smash Bunny." Witnesses on the scene claim that the Bunny simply asked the Hulk if he wanted a green flower.

Rich - BeƤte Burgess
To be rich in color or to vibrant, strong and deeply saturated with color. Orange is an intense and vivid color associated in the Elizabethan Era as a status of wealth. Enforced by the Sumptuary Laws that only the rich or the affluent upper class were allowed to wear the color orange. Very costly at the time to dye any fabrics but especially the color orange as it was a combination of colors and technique to achieve the brilliant, rich and dramatic color orange.

Light: Jeff Sipes
When I think of light I think of an HDR (High Dynamic Range) photograph. These are photos that are able to have every part of the zone system in the photograph. The zone system goes from total black to paper white and is what photographers use to decide which aperture and shutter speed they should use to take their photo.
You might be asking how you make these photos. All you do is bracket 3-5 photos of the same exact photograph. One light, one normal, one dark, and you can do two others if you'd like to. The best software to use is Photomatix to make the HDR image. http://www.hdrsoft.com/Light is everywhere and you can't get away from it. It lightens up our days and we are surrounded by it at night. We use it without worry and know that we can't get away from it. Photographers can use light to their advantages in more ways than any person can possibly think of. From lighting an apple in the studio to lighting a whole set out on the street, would you know how to light the most simple objects?

Sound: Jeff Sipes
Sound was the hardest concept blog to come up with. How do you take a photograph of something that you can't see? You really can't take a photograph of sound, it is something you have to hear or see the word itself. I don't think that you can show something that makes a sound because people would think it's just a photograph of the product. I thought that trains have been all around the country and they have been around every sound possible, so what would know better than a train that sound is everywhere?

Classic - The one with the Old Machine - MacKenzie Carullo
The word classic can be interpreted into many different ideas for every person. For me growing up meant hardwork, your hands would have blisters, your body covered in sweat and you would be exhausted. But after word the family would come together look at the hard work they put in and be proud of a job well done.
When I think of today it is full of technology that gets the job done faster, cheaper and with less quality. This generations wants what they want five seconds earlier than the idea. This piece of machinery brought me back to a time when the pace of life was slower. Hard work was honorable and respected. There was not many distractions from family, friends and real life. This is classic to me because it symbolizes a time when families work together to gather their crops for themselves and for sale. It brought the family together in good times and bad.

There are many different ways you can look at what classic means to you. A Coca-Cola is one of the most classic things you can find and has been around since 1944. It has been around for a long time and everybody knows the company. The classic part of Coca-Cola are the bottles. A drink that can be refreshing and a drink that most people like. You can guarantee Coca-Cola will always be around.

Death-Jeff Sipes
When I thought about death, the first thing that came to my mind was a graveyard. I knew of this huge graveyard not too far away and went there to find some architecture. This was the most unique architectural structure I found and couldn't pass it up. My main focus in photography right now is architecture. I enjoyed working with this photograph because of the great contrast between the building and sky. Even though it’s a mausoleum, the sky makes it feel like there is a brighter day ahead.

Red-Jeff Sipes
Red is a fun color and one of my favorite colors. I went driving around and I found this wonderful playground. What is more fun than a playground set? There are some very nice colors in this and it is a fun photograph. This photo would make any child want to come and play here.
