So much can be said with a simple glance. It may be I need food, I need time, or even I need you. One of my favorite expressions to capture is a cold stare. The amount of depth that an almost lifeless stare can create is absolutely amazing. There are so many powerful shots that I’ve come across that have had such an impact just because of an expression. The expression may distract you from the background or even contrast the environment all together. An image does not need a smiling face in order to be beautiful. The model in this shot is Deanna Knight and hair and makeup is by Marni Buckerfield.

Bokeh: in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light."[8] Differences in lens aberrations and aperture shape cause some lens designs to blur the image in a way that is pleasing to the eye, while others produce blurring that is unpleasant or distracting—"good" and "bad" bokeh, respectively.[3] Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field. Photographers sometimes deliberately use a shallow focus technique to create images with prominent out-of-focus regions.

Coming up with a concept for change was pretty easy for me. My hair color is the thing that changes most with me and I get a lot of different feedback from something as simple as my hair color. I am a natural brunette but when my hair is changed to blonde I really am treated like I am less intelligent. I find the whole concept interesting.

He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery. ~Harold Wilson
In photography, the change of seasons allows all of us to take some brand new pictures of some really cool colorful shit with great backgrounds!
The season changes one leaf at a time!

Change: There's change all around us, because the world we live in is in perpetual change. The cities we live in are changing, the people that enter our lives are changing, The world itself is constantly changing. What I've decided to depict in this image is the constantly changing city showing the new Colorado History Museum and a couple of the summers leaves that have become yellow and brown and fallen to the ground.

For my change photo I thought of sharing this photo and ad I made over the weekend. Ian Winters, co-owner of Firehouse (a local snowboard clothing company) asked me to shoot and build an advertisement for the new issue of Snowboard Colorado. I happily said yes and meet with Chris Corning a 12 year old snowboarder from Arvada, CO. Last year Chris took first place in the “King of Groms” a contest that highlights the best young riders and at the end of the season was attempting double back flips. This ad is showcasing that he is officially a part of the Firehouse team. This was a fun and interesting shoot for me. The action shoot was sent over and shot by Steve Cummings. The portrait and ad layout are by AJ Anderson. I saw this as a “change photo” because its shows the change that is happening in my life and the growth in my photography.

When a family starts having children, there will be constant change. Having a baby is a huge change in a life as a couple. Before the new arrival you could just pick-up and go anywhere and do anything whenever you wanted. With a new baby that is almost impossible. Having a baby there is change in a couple's life. There are the two hour feedings, the changing of the diapers, the constant give of your self to your baby day and night. As new parents you will never be the same again, because the baby relies on you for everything.I think that this kind of change is the one that most people welcome. I know I did.

Change is an unstoppable part of life for which a society must undertake to develop as a better, stronger community. Without change people will become stagnant hindering growth ultimately causing a community to become less evolved with the important changes around them affecting others without concern. This image is one of several taken in a series showing the transformation of a growing society. After the sites are finish I will return to photograph the final transformation.

As the season change, so does our mean of recreation. We go from tanning, playing volleyball, running, long boarding, and just being outside to running in gyms, tanning salons and just sitting inside during the winter. To me though there is so much more to do in the winter. During the winter season snowboarding is my recreation. I may long board during the summer months but when winter come around I have no problem changing my recreational activities.

The word CHANGE can take on many different meanings. It could be a change of seasons, a change in hair color, a change in self, or a life change. In my case change has taken on a whole new meaning. October 15, 2011 is a day that has been six years in the making. I have gone through many changes in my life but that day will mark one of the biggest to date. I will be marrying the love of my life and while many people may say this is my happy ending, I see it as my wonderful and adventurous beginning. I decided that my first picture should not only introduce me but should also show the uncertainty of who I should be after marriage. How much of yourself do you “change”? How many things do you compromise without compromising who you are as an individual? These are just a few of the many contemplations running through my mind.
