Film to Digital: Chris Bebout

Film is beautiful but sensitive medium that I have just started to understand over the past 3 months. This idea of working in complete darkness is the exact opposite of what photography is about. The feeling of being in a developing room and placing a black and white negative into chemicals, that could degrade the image if not done properly is very nerve racking but exciting once the process is finished. The lights are now on and the negative is being held up to the light....its as if this weight as been lifted. The negative is sharp, exposed correctly, and clean. Now its time to print! Whole other ball game!

Some people only really think about what their thankful for on Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and so on. For me its important when I'm upset or stressed out to think about where I have been, what has been given to me, and what I have earned. Most things in life are uncontrollable and some are not, but we must not dwell on the past but learn and move forth.

 Denver is full of urban buildings, I found Hotel Newhouse epically interesting do too its close location near the Colorado State Capitol with its brightly lit 80's neon sign.

Creepy: Chris Bebout

 

What the eyes see or in this case don't see, the mind will interpret what it thinks is there. This creepy fenced off abandoned factory (Gates Rubber Factory) was playing games with my mind. Letting my imagination get the best of me, I created an Image in my head of what was in front of me, only to see the truth as I walked forward.

Cold: Chris Bebout

The cold air on our bodies and rain drops we hear hitting our roof tops are indicators of it becoming cooler. A more pleasant sense of the weather changing is the vibrant colored trees shedding their leaves. Soon this pine tree will support snowfall while the others will become bare and deathly.
