Macro: Sarah Eslinger

When trying to decide what to shoot for the term Macro, I thought what else could be better in the fall than a picture of the changing leaves. Macro to me, means to show something small in full. Larger than it could ever be in full detail. I found this leaf in the middle of downtown on a slowly dying tree. The light shining through the decay of the weathered leaf was beautiful to me.

Decay: Brandon Chapin

The simplicity of decay spreads from large to small.  This little weathered fire hydrant is a link to more decay then it looks.  Think about the fact that when a fire rages through a forest or a house burns down they are decaying in a way.  The fire truck that would drive to the scene is also slowly decaying, the engine is wearing and the tires are balding.  Then, that truck will come to this little decaying hydrant to use its water to put out the fire that is raging.  Everything and everyone around us is slowly decaying and will eventually die or crumble.  The trick is to find the beauty in these things and extracting it. © Brandon Chapin Photography.

Time : Mariah Mata

Time goes on. Life always grabs ahold of you. Whether it’s work or your personal life. Events come around and make you see what you are doing with your life. As this fellow reflects on his endeavors, he believes in living in the moment. He doesn’t let anything get in the way of what he wants out of life. Every minute counts, just like the cigarette, it’s going to end eventually so you might as well enjoy it while you can. Who knew smoke breaks could be so intuitive.

Thanks: Chris Bebout

Some people only really think about what their thankful for on Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and so on. For me its important when I'm upset or stressed out to think about where I have been, what has been given to me, and what I have earned. Most things in life are uncontrollable and some are not, but we must not dwell on the past but learn and move forth.

Light: Candice Swanson

Light is a beautiful thing when it is going away from us or coming to fill the day with sunshine. In this picture there is a sign of technology with this jet stream but it is lit with wonderful light.
