Change: Jazzmin Windey

The word CHANGE can take on many different meanings.  It could be a change of seasons, a change in hair color, a change in self, or a life change.  In my case change has taken on a whole new meaning.  October 15, 2011 is a day that has been six years in the making.  I have gone through many changes in my life but that day will mark one of the biggest to date.  I will be marrying the love of my life and while many people may say this is my happy ending, I see it as my wonderful and adventurous beginning. I decided that my first picture should not only introduce me but should also show the uncertainty of who I should be after marriage.  How much of yourself do you “change”?  How many things do you compromise without compromising who you are as an individual?  These are just a few of the many contemplations running through my mind.

MrNicholsPhotography : Fusion

There are times when a person thinks of himself as different people. It is true though, there are actually three types of self's within ourselves. No one really knows it but its there. Sometimes you feel like doing something that you normally would not do, and other times you feel scared and not wanted, when deep down you know that you are. We will always struggle with ourselves and never truly understand what it is that makes us what we are.

Windows: Geoff Ridenour

The eyes are the window of the soul. -English Proverb.

As a photographer there is nothing more important than the ability to see, both with our eyes and more importantly the mind. Most people are born physically able to see. As light reflects off objects in our environment our eyes receive and transmit the signals to our brain. However, what happens from there is where we all become true individuals. Something in our mind takes on the job interpolating, translating and processing the information to create a unique vision of the world we live in. As a visual artist this is the true essence of my photography. It is my unique translation of light being focused through the lens, eye and mind to create a visual representation of my soul’s vision of the world around me.

Texture: Ariel Elich

As a child, one of my favorite things to do was draw designs in the steamed up mirror after someone had taken a shower and see how the steam and water droplets distorted my image. Now every time I get out of the shower and swipe the mirror to see myself I have a small flashback of sitting on the bathroom counter making faces as my self and laughing at the distortion of my face. As I got older I began to notice the texture the mirror and water would create, so I did a self portrait (the first I have ever done), to bring me back to the simple entertainment of my childhood and to experiment with the inherent texture of water on glass. But what I got was an image that more disturbs me then elates me. In this image I have become an eyeless texture filled "THING".
