Decay: Brandon Chapin

The simplicity of decay spreads from large to small.  This little weathered fire hydrant is a link to more decay then it looks.  Think about the fact that when a fire rages through a forest or a house burns down they are decaying in a way.  The fire truck that would drive to the scene is also slowly decaying, the engine is wearing and the tires are balding.  Then, that truck will come to this little decaying hydrant to use its water to put out the fire that is raging.  Everything and everyone around us is slowly decaying and will eventually die or crumble.  The trick is to find the beauty in these things and extracting it. © Brandon Chapin Photography.

Abstract: Brandon Chapin

To a human being the most abstract thing in existence, in my opinion, is that which mankind did not create.  This means Mother Nature created abstract, is abstract, and remains abstract.  It is something that we don’t always understand and will always be dumbfounded by.  During my travels across the deserts of Utah, Arizona, and Nevada I stopped in Moab, Utah to see the rock formations that have been sitting there, the same, for ages.  They are beautiful, natural occurrence that creates awe and amazement in humans when seen in person.

Mirrors Devin Swift

Mirrors are the coolest things to me. They are used in everyday life from grooming to admiring yourself, but mirrors also have a dark side. For centuries mirrors have been used in horror stores. From the old bloody marry to the bad luck for seven years if you break a mirror. There are also theories that you can see spirits in mirrors. There are many styles of mirrors, the new modern look, the old classic and many in between.  I love Pronto Home; it is a great site to look for mirrors. They show all the different styles and which stores have the best deals on the mirrors you like.

Motion: Audree Valdez

What a nice getaway from reality for a few minutes. The movement and sound of the water is just so relaxing, I could be here all day if I could. Unfortunately, an hour later I had to get back to reality and start work, which is right next to the creek. This will definitely be a spot I come back to when I just need to getaway.
