Thanksgiving: Berry Oliver

"I want to help paint Uncle Charlie." I hear my niece Willow say from across the market.  For most people Thanksgiving means eating a big meal with your family, but in my family we work with food so that's out the window.  Thanksgiving Day is the only day the market is closed until Christmas.  We take this time to decorate the market.  Most of my family gets together early on Thanksgiving morning to hang garland, string up lights and paint the window.  There is always something that can be done.  For us it's the only day of the week we can finally relax.

Before the streets are filled with the sound of his guitar and the sound of money landing in his case. The street musician he get's his words of encouragement from his girlfriend who is thankful that there isn't two feet of snow at his feet in October.

Light can be used to give a sense of warmth and comfort. However if you use light in combination with total darkness, it can have the reverse effect and make you feel uncomfortable and scared.

Change

As fall is upon us, most trees and plants lose their leaves in preparation for winter months ahead. The crab apple tree is thriving and bursting with life. Very soon the leaves will change into a variety of colors as the cold winter approaches.
