Heather Zindars: Mirror

She blossoms right before your eyes.  Whether 3 or 13, girls love to dress-up like a princess.  Inside every woman, there is a princess.  Life may have jaded her to this belief, but if you wipe away all the pain and disappointment, there in lies a young girl whose childhood dream is to be rescued by her knight and shining armor.   A princess, above all else, is fought for.  Her tenderness and vulnerability blankets her heart awaiting her prince charming who will rise to the occasion.  This lovely girl is someone's sister, daughter, niece, granddaughter and so much more. She deserves to be loved and cherished and pursued valiantly.  God's precious gift of beauty and grace will someday touch another's heart, and she will be well worth the wait.

Old School: Chandler Kim

Being a product of the 90's, the first thing that came to my mind when I heard the words old school was "The Fresh Prince of Bel-air." I had a great time recreating what I thought was the modern day "Fresh Princess" of Denver.

Here is a link to a website where you can watch episodes of "The Fresh Prince" and relive the good old days. http://www.freshprinceonline.com/

Creepy: AJ Anderson

The little girl is close family friend that I shot in the studio cut out in photoshop, then put her in the background of the graveyard.

Cold: Jared Williams

So much can be said with a simple glance. It may be I need food, I need time, or even I need you. One of my favorite expressions to capture is a cold stare. The amount of depth that an almost lifeless stare can create is absolutely amazing. There are so many powerful shots that I’ve come across that have had such an impact just because of an expression. The expression may distract you from the background or even contrast the environment all together. An image does not need a smiling face in order to be beautiful. The model in this shot is Deanna Knight and hair and makeup is by Marni Buckerfield.

Devan Dennis - Stereotypes

Tell me who I am,

Everything I’m supposed to be.

Dress me up, paint my face,

Erase everything I dreamed to be.

Label me, judge me,

Never look beyond my appearance -

Admire my mask I wear so well.

Make me your insignificant puppet.

Create me in your image – yours alone.

Make believe I’m everything you think I should be –

A sad, stereotypical girl

Aiming to please.
