For women everywhere Valentines Day is only a reminder that they're single.. this Valentines Day I am one of those women! This inspired me to do a photo-shoot portraying that you don't need a man or a date to feel beautiful, because there is beauty in independence alone. I wanted to capture Emily (an also single woman) as being beautiful all on her own this February 14th.
Webin' the Net is a platform for students from the Art Institute to participate in a group blog. Each week students from Web Portfolio I will come up with a concept to illustrate with a photo and a few thoughts about how that photo fits the concept.
We call them "conceptlogs".

Valentines Day

Valentine's - Beäte Burgess
According to Webster's Dictionary "love" is a noun meaning to have 'a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person', I agree. However that definition offers no balance, no yin and yang. To me love is also rough, discordant, sometimes uncivilized and can be scathing in the heat of rebuttal arguments. Love is devotion and love can hurt.

Valentine - Justin Wilhelm
I have always hated Valentine's Day. It seems as though the same people that have created a "holiday" for "love" are also the ones who push the "piece of meat" mentality every other day of the year. Shall we put the tongue back in his cheek?
